Strawberry Shivers Forever

Since shooting over the weekend I have had a nice relaxing week and have done very little. I have discovered the joys of 'Strawberry Shivers' which is a non-alcoholic cocktail. OK, here's the story:

It's Monday evening and I finally decide to pack away all of the equipment from the filming weekend. Monsters take ages to tidy things away, we've only got little arms so lifting things gets us tired really quickly. I had finally managed to get all of the camera equipment in the loft and was routing around for a safe place to store it when I came across an old wooden chest with carvings on. Now, traditionally in these sorts of stories the old wooden chest with carvings on has magical powers and I was being a little careful in case I was sucked in to some sort of magical vortex. What I found in that chest was even more amazing than I could have imagined.

It was a little book that was full of non-alcoholic cocktail recipes. This is really old. It must have dated back at least 5 whole years. On the front was a picture of a footballer and it's title was "Blend it like Beckham".

Now, being a purple monster I decided to try and find something in there that matched my colour. To my dismay I couldn't find anything at all, which was a real shame. What I did find, however, was the recipe for 'Strawberry Shivers'. Here's what it says:

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 Strawberries
4 tsp. Honey
1/2 Water

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place all ingredients in the blender jar - cover and whiz on medium speed until well blended. Pour in one tall, 2 medium or 3 small glasses and drink up.

Now I didn't understand it at first. I'm from Canada and to us "Whiz on medium" could really be taken the wrong way. Over there it means a type of cheese and that wouldn't be very nice at all.

After figuring out that I didn't need any spray on cheese I but it all in a blender and what came out was amazing.

If you've not tried this cocktail then I urge you to. You'll really love it, even though it's not purple.

Monster Blues

I have just got back from working with my brother, George on a wonderful video of us performing to the Seasick Steve song, 'I started out with nothing'. OK, we're only miming but I am really proud of the work we have done. Take a look below:

If you want to follow the link to youtube then you can see it in glorious definition. That's the way us monsters do the internet.

It's not easy filming when you are a monster. You often get bits of fur in the lens and have to start all over again. You might have heard them on film sets shout 'Check the Gate', that's to make sure no monsters have got it because otherwise they have to do all there filming again.

In the picture above I'm lining a shot up of George sitting by an amplifier. You can see the finished shot in our video.

Unfortunately, George's dog didn't like the camera very much and tried to attack it. We spent ages trying to get him off the camera lens. So today I learned how to make a video and how to upload it to youtube. George learned that he really does need to learn to control his dog. Woffy learned that camera lenses don't taste nice and don't steal your soul. Finally, we all learned that monsters can make films just as well as you humans can.

Blog, blog, blog

This is a new thing for me, writing blogs. I have been making a video with my brother and he said he has been blogging so I thought I would give it a go.

I'm Henry and I am a purple monster from Canada although George, my brother, and I are now living in England with friends of ours. It's cold over here, we saw snow for the first ever time this month.

I know what you're thinking, how can you come from Canada and not see snow. Well, us monsters actually live underground in the kingdom of Monstropolis. That's why you don't see many of us up here. It's lovely in Monstropolis. The sun always shine and we are surrounded by rolling green and yellow hills, made of real green and yellow.

Anyway, I am going to blog as much as possible now that I know how to do it.
